Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

A topic which is very close to hearts of many of my loved ones is the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, this issue has been brought to the forefront by recent events. I have however found that many people of my generation are completely unaware of the atrocities occurring and the events unfolding and both their impact and significance. I thought I would provide just a brief context and attempt to make the youth understand why this issue should be awarded even greater meaning to us, South Africans.  Israel, is occupied by both people of the Jewish faith as well as Muslims. However the Muslims live in Palestine, an embankment, which according to the UN isn't considered a country of it's own although the West Bank  is inhabited by approximately 2.4 million  Palestinians  and the   Gaza Strip  by another 1.4 million . Palestine is a mere fraction of land in Israel with which the Muslims were roughly driven into by the Israelis as a form of offensive defense.  Although the Israelis

Rock of Ages

The movie, 'Rock of Ages' is really cool! Don't believe me? Go watch it. Okay, it might have a slight Bollywood touch with the whole..'I'll sing when I'm happy, I'll sing when I'm sad and I'll sing when I'm in love ' thing. The movie stars Alec Baldwin , Russel Brands, Tom cruise, Malin Akerman & an unknown main actress that I thought seriously shouldn't have been a part of this Legendary movie. The great era of rock was in the 80's and 90's, thus the movie was set in 1987 and showcased great rock and roll music. Not music, at my age, that I found terribly familiar and that of which came out of my distant memory, but those common golden oldies that I sometimes heard on the radio. There were occasional elation that were maybe a little too loud. But, that's just part of the fun, right? The most iconic thing about the movie is the great cast, aside from the girl, there's Tom,Russel & Alec and a great cast more o

Sometimes, I go overboard yeah?

The movies for me, are known as my happy place. It's somewhere where I can escape to & especially with a cliche'd chick flick that has a 'that was so sweet & i realy need to go out more often ' feeling on you. That's when you know their good! However, Bollywood movies have a different criteria, a more specific one. It is vital that the attention of the viewer is always on the movie and that there aren't too many 'song and dance' scenes because they tend to become boring and relentless. Now,usually, as today, I'll happily watch a Bollywood movie. I'll go, enjoy it & remember the catchy songs  Never the less, we watched a movie called Teri Meri Kahani. Starring Shahid Kapoor & Priyanka Chopra as main characters. One should never follow ones Facebook friends status update review of any movie. This is just my Facebook friends playing fools on me right? Conspiring to lead me to watch the Ear wrenching five minute each songs that w

The Hunger Games Trilogy Review..

The Hunger Games, Catching Fire & Mockingjay Novels, all part of the Hunger Games Trilogy written by Suzanne Collins, are extraordinary books & must never be avoided at any risk. The Series follow the journey of Katniss Everdeen as she travels from District 12, her home, to the Capitol as a tribute for the 74th annual Hunger Games. It is in this journey that she formally meets Peeta. I really love Peeta. #TeamPeeta However, as the series continues, just similarly to Harry Potter, the thoughts and actions of the various characters begin to become dark and all that's pretty ain't pink anymore. Now it's death and revenge. A continuous theme of sacrificing & death are carried out throughout the series. The Love triangle between Katniss,Peeta & Gale is definitely something to positively hold on to.. After finishing the series, I was so sure I wanted to start them all over again. However the small obsession growing & the long depressing morning while I r
